The other day Halle taught me the names of the colors in sign language. She knows them in spanish too. All of a sudden she is identifying letter sounds like we never even sat struggling through two years of joy school trying to make that happen. She is cutting shapes out of paper. A far cry from that one time we tried to learn how to cut and she simply got up from the table and said, "I can't learn." She comes home singing the sweetest little songs and is so proud to show me the prize she picked when she is chosen as the "cool climber." Miss Liz has some kind of spell over her, and I am just glad to know the child can learn even when she declares she can not. Needless to say she has been loving preschool. And one of the most exciting days was their class field trip to the pumpkin patch. Little sissy pie and I even got to tag along.
We went to a farm in American Fork.
It was my first time seeing a potato sack slide in action and I think it was one of Halle's favorite parts.
The petting zoo had docile little farm animals the kids could pet, which delighted and grossed Halle out, and just plain terrified Lily.
We went on a hay ride and took a stroll through a corn maze.
The kids were allowed to pick a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and bring it home. It was the sweetest thing.
The kids had some lunch and then were free to go.
We all came home dirty and happy.
